Fringe: The Truth About Emerging Workplace Tech

Hosted by Workplace FABRIC, ACA Australia, Ascentae and London & Partners

About the Event

It’s easy to become ‘wowed’ by the white-hot talk of the IT industry…. but what is the truth about emerging technologies for managing the modern workplace?

The technology sector is a multi-billion-dollar business, and IT companies are throwing millions of dollars at convincing workplace leaders to spend their organisations hard earned cash on new systems and devices? So it’s easy to be confused.

Join Raj Krishnamurthy, CEO Workplace FABRIC, Jon Knight, Commercial Director, Ascentae, Jonathan MacFarlane, Co-Founder, ACA Australia, and Andrew Cooke, COO London Partners, who will seek to debunk the IT myths, explain what does and doesn’t work, and facilitate a full and frank non-technical discussion to help those responsible for the management of the workplace.

Meet the Speakers

Raj Krishnamurthy, CEO, Workplace FABRIC

Raj is an ambitious entrepreneur and inventor who is transforming the modern workplace through innovative tech. His experience in the sector helped Raj identify a gap in the market for a technology solution that enables users to have their best day at work.

The platform, ‘Freespace’, does not require users to login or reveal their identity but enables them to maximise their productivity and make the best use of the expensive real estate they occupy.

Over the years, Raj has become established as a leading expert in this space and his clients include global blue chip and FTSE 500 companies such as Willis Towers Watson, Adobe, SAGE Publishing, CMS Cameron McKenna and BDO.

Jon Knight, Commercial Director & Co-Founder, Ascentae

Jon is responsible for overseeing all commercial elements within Ascentae, including setting the overall business strategy and defining the route to market.

Jon co-founded Ascentae following two decades of experience working on ‘both sides’ of the industry and his in-depth knowledge of the sector has helped to shape Ascentae’s vision for the future. With over 20 years’ experience in meeting room and collaboration technologies Jon believes there are plenty of gaps yet to be filled successfully by technology including digital transformation.

As passionate about products as he is his people. Jon is highly committed to ensuring customers have a fantastic experience through new technology and recognises technology needs to enhance existing business processes rather than processes being changed to adapt to the technology in order to drive adoption.

Jonathan Macfarlane, Co-Founder, ACA Projects, Australia

After graduating from the University of Sydney with a Masters of Design Science, Jonathan set out to disrupt how we interact with technology in the built environment. This led to the co-founding of ACA Projects which delivers smart building solutions at both a precinct and tenancy level.

A core focus is to provide workplace management solutions, but ultimately Jonathan is interested in blurring the lines between hospitality, retail and the modern workplace. This is achieved by taking a platform approach to technology which allows seamless transition from one user experience to another.

Buttons, touch panels and antiquated hardware systems cannot meet the challenges of today’s workplace. Jonathan leads the UX team at ACA and works directly with clients to scope user experiences that can adapt to new ways of working and be applied at a multinational level.
