However, while we can act on these findings, there is still much that is unexplored or under-investigated.

This dedicated breakfast session will draw on the global WORKTECH Academy network to brief participants on the themes of current research and, through a short interactive workshop, enable them to define areas for future research. The key question is: what do we still need to learn?

Hello Workplace: Embracing the Opportunity

In early July 2018, members of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) backed a historic recommendation to reframe facilities management by emphasising its ability to make a real contribution to the performance of organisations, and rename itself the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management.

Since then, BIFM has been busy transitioning the organisation into a modern professional body, fully fit to nurture and support facilities management through its next phase: to seize the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century workplace.
On Thursday, 15 November, as part of Workplace Week London 2018, BIFM has invited members to an evening to celebrate this new beginning and learn about plans for 2019.

A panel of experts will be on hand to help navigate this evolution as the profession gets ready to embrace the workplace opportunity. Panellists include:

  • Ian Ellison, Co-founder and Director, 3edges Workplace
  • Dr. Matt Tucker, Reader in Workplace and Facilities Management, Liverpool John Moores University
  • Andrew Mawson, Founder, Advanced Workplace Associates (AWA) & Workplace Week London & New York
  • Stuart Wright, Group Property and Facilities Director, Aviva
