We’re in This Together… How to Maintain Collegiality Through Unprecedented Times

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. is a leading developer, publisher and marketer of interactive entertainment for consumers around the globe. The world-renowned gaming company develops and publishes products principally through Rockstar Games, 2K, Private Division and Social Point.

After experiencing tremendous growth in 2016, Take-Two set out to explore options for a new headquarters in New York City. Located in lower Manhattan for many years, the organization had outgrown its space and had no option to expand in its existing location.

As a result of an exhaustive search of several areas of Manhattan, Take-Two found that Bryant Park met its needs for space size, flexibility and transport, and closed on a space located at 1133 Avenue of the Americas.

Knowing that moving to midtown would change the office culture drastically, Take-Two embarked on a design journey that included feedback from employees and management. Coupled with a close collaboration with their design partners, an office environment that everyone wants to work in was created: championing an industrial-chic aesthetic with plenty of concrete, metal and glass.

In the last two years, Take-Two has grown its headquarters from approximately 60,000 square feet to 80,000 square feet – all while continuing to support a richer and more collaborative culture that employees are proud to be part of.

Then COVID happened, and the world of work as we knew it catapulted us into a new dimension.

As the pandemic shut the offices down, Take-Two’s management, facilities, real estate, IT and events teams worked hard to implement an effective plan for its approximately 300 NYC based staff to return to an office that would be safe, while still holding true to the culture the team worked so hard to create.

With collaboration still paramount to its success, Take-Two has achieved its goals of melding culture and safety without creating a hospital affect.
