Ted Moudis Associates: IPG Mediabrands Case Study

Following the tour of IPG Media Brands at 100 West 33rd Street Ted Moudis Associates will lead a dynamic discussion around the design of the three distinct brands that fall under the IPG corporate portfolio; Initiative, Mediabrands and UM. Most New York construction stories are all about the real estate; in particular most corporate headquarter moves are about reducing costs and increasing efficiency. However, for IPG that is only part of the story. Located on three separate floors at 100 West 33rd Street, in the middle of bustling Herald Square, each company operates independently and maintains their own sense of identity and individuality, which inspired designers, Ted Moudis Associates (TMA), to propose a strategy of creating shared amenities in order to encourage staff from different floors to interact; thus, creating a vertical campus. The other challenge for two of these spaces that TMA faced was how to dramatically transform an existing space on a budget.
